History

We changed our name from Tejari Technologies Berhad to 1 Utopia Berhad to better reflect the fundamental characteristics of the Company we are today; our determination, strength and business expansion.

The company’s roots can be traced back to its establishment in 1984. Previously, our main focus was in the hydraulics business, dealing in the retailing and trading of parts and components. We were then incorporated on 25 January 2005 as a private limited company, followed by a listing as a public company on 21December the same year. We are currently listed on the Ace Market of Bursa Malaysia.

February 2010 marked a significant milestone for us as we ventured into the ICT industry through a newly-owned subsidiary, ICT Utopia Sdn. Bhd. This enabled the Group to develop an ICT Commerce Enterprise Absolute Market Place (ICTCE-AMP), for ICT retailing and organising ICT-related events. In July 2010, we completed the acquisition of PC3 Technology Sdn. Bhd. and Essential Action Sdn. Bhd., two key IT retailers in Malaysia.

To commemorate our business expansion in the ICT industry, we decided to re-brand and change our name to 1 Utopia Berhad in October 2011. We then acquired a string of businesses, including PDA Expert Mobility Sdn. Bhd. in October 2011, one of the largest ICT retailers in Malaysia, and Urusrasa Sdn. Bhd. in November 2011, a car jockey service provider at Plaza Low Yat and Federal hotel. January 2012 saw another addition to our portfolio, namely Tarita Multimedia Sendirian Berhad, an operator of a major outlet at Plaza Low Yat, Malaysia’s main ICT hub.

The Group is now a full-fledged technology-based enterprise. We aim to become the largest ICT lifestyle retailer in Malaysia by strengthening our Technology pillar through even more mergers and acquisitions. 1 Utopia is one of the major tenants of Plaza Low Yat, occupying the largest floor space. We are also present in a number of outlets at Digital Mall, Petaling Jaya and Sunway Pyramid.
